Former Wings guitarist Laurence Juber has delved into the catalog of his ex-boss Paul McCartney’s old band The Beatles for a fourth time on a new album titled, appropriately enough, The Fab Fourth, that’s due out on March 27.The new album features Juber’s solo acoustic-guitar interpretations of 16 Beatles songs spanning most of the group’s recorded history, from 1963’s George Harrison-penned “Don’t Bother Me” to 1969’s “Across the Universe.”Among the other well-known Fab Four tunes Juber has reworked for the record are “Back in the USSR,” “A Day in the Life,” “Lady Madonna,” “She’s Leaving Home,” “She’s a Woman” and “Julia.” In addition, a version of the Abbey Road song “You Never Give Me Your Money” is available as a bonus track.Juber’s previous Beatles covers albums are 2000’s critically acclaimed LJ Plays The Beatles, 2010’s LJ Plays The Beatles Vol. 2 and 2017’s LJ Can’t Stop Playing The Beatles.”This collection includes favorites that I missed on the previous albums, along with some under-appreciated songs, and a few guitaristic challenges,” Juber says of The Fab Fourth. “There are many that haven’t yet made the cut, and I’m not sure that I’ll tackle any more, but that’s what I’ve said before…”You can buy pre-release singed copies of The Fab Fourth now at Juber’s online store.
