In 1964, The Beatles opened their first full-fledged U.S. tour as they performed at San Francisco’s Cow Palace. More than six months after appearing on The Ed Sullivan show and taking the East Coast by storm, the Fab Four returned to San Francisco, California for opening night of their first-ever concert tour of North America on Aug. 19, 1964.
