Karsh Kale was part of a George Harrison tribute performance at the New York edition of the festival.

In September this year, musician/producer Karsh Kale had the most enthralling experience at the Global Citizen festival in New York. “The most exciting part of the evening was that the final segment was a tribute to the late former Beatle, George Harrison. I got to see Paul Simon perform an inspiring acoustic version of Harrison’s ‘Here Come The Sun’,” he says.After that, Kale himself took the stage, to perform a new version of the Beatles’ ‘Within You Without You’ with the Karsh Kale Collective. He adds, “We were followed by Tom Morrello and the Kenyan Boys Choir and then joined by Jon Batiste and Regina Spector for an amazing version of ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. It was great for all these otherwise disparate artists to come together for a common theme.”
