The Beatles legend Ringo Starr has been giving his triplet grandchildren music lessons. Lee Starkey, 46, Ringo’s daughter by his first wife Maureen Tigrett says her seven-year-old triplets Jakamo, Ruby and Smokey have become keen musicians after lessons from her dad.“They’re all taking after dad in the music department,” Lee tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper. “They started learning a couple of years ago. Jakamo’s doing drums, Smokey’s doing drums and guitar, and Ruby’s doing piano. I can imagine them forming a band when they’re older. Dad gave them their first lessons.”If the triplets do follow their famous grandfather into rock, they won’t be the first members of the Starkey family to join Ringo, real name Richard Starkey, in the music business.Lee’s brother Zak Starkey, 51, followed his dad’s footsteps in becoming a drummer after he was given a kit as a child by The Who sticksman Keith Moon.Zak has drummed for acts including his dad’s All-Starr Band, The Who, Oasis, Paul Weller, The Waterboys and Johnny Marr. Ringo, 76, is currently of the process of making a new album, and has been in the studio with his old The Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney will appear on.
