Whilst early Beatles’ manager Allan Williams was in Hamburg, he arranged for a private recording session for his new band at Akustik Studio, owned by a Mr. Breul, located in an office building in the city centre.

As lead singer, Williams had chosen Lu Walters, the bass player with Rory Storm and The Hurricanes, and to back him, he arranged for John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, (who was still in Rory Storm’s Hurricanes at the time). It is not confirmed whether the lead guitarist on the session was either George Harrison or Ty Brien, also of The Hurricanes.

The session happened on a Saturday afternoon, October 15th 1960. It has not been made clear what the song title was, or what the outcome of that session was either.
