Actually, there is no reference other than the direct word for word translation:
YES YES
(French oui and the German word ja.)

I believe that it is not a game at all. At least not in the common sense. You just don't "play" with spirits, angels, souls or any other entities you will encounter when you use it. It has been very misleading and it is no wonder that the Ouija Board has gotten such a bad rep in public opinion. It is not a toy, not a game, it is serious spiritual business.
"Can I just contact anybody...?"A very difficult question. From experience I can tell you that it is more likely that you will reach a close relative rather than a dead celebrity you had no contact with in real life. The physical nature of a contact seems to be a very important ingredient in how to reach someone. If you were related to or acquainted with someone in real life, you have exchanged sights, smells, auras and other elements of physical and spiritual contact patterns. You will remember these impression whilst you are trying to establish contact with the person via the Ouija Board. Important here is that you imagine or envision the details of the persona of the person you trying to reach. Concentration is another very important factor. In order to receive a "genuine" contact you should block out all other activities that are surrounding you whilst you are conducting the contact. Not only "outside" disturbances should be blocked but troubling thoughts or emotions that may reside within. Most of all you should be physically and spiritually as clear as possible. No drugs or alhcohol should be used to "enhance" the experience. Out of experience water is the best source of nutrition during a "session", because in my experience you will get thristy.
"Why should I say an introductory prayer before starting a Ouija session...?"Depending upon your own spiritual beliefs, religion or any other form of worship you should ask for guidance through prayer, meditation, etc., before you start heading into the "Spirit Realms". First of all this helps to calm your nerves physically and build your strength spiritually, because you won't have the terrible feeling of going to other side alone. Generally, it helps to ward off evil entities and helps you to appear on the other side with a little more authority, knowing that you have someone watching your back. I strongly recommend some kind of contemplation before you start.
"Why shouldn't I use the Ouija Board by myself...?"How can you be objective when you have no one to share your information with and validate your experience ? Imagine the Ouija Board as the world, the planchette as the Equator, you and a friend as the magnetic poles. When you are working with a Ouija Board you are dealing with magnetic as well as spiritual energy. When you use it alone, your mind, your emotions or subconcious can and will play tricks on you. Concequently you will have no reference point no way of reflecting what you have just experienced during a successful session.
"How many people can participate?"At least two people should be touching the board at all times. Others may touch it as well because sometimes it helps to raise the levels of energy. Others can also ask questions without touching the board as long as two people are present. (See also "Why shouldn't I use the Ouija Board by myself...?")
"Why isn't there a manual...?"Good question. I have no answer to this one. Maybe somebody should call Parker Brothers for an answer.
"What do the graphics in the four corners of the board mean...?"That is a very interesting question. Usually the top left and right corners are easily explained. In the top left corner you a have symbol of the sun, which I think represents the emotion of love or appreciation when a spirit, entity, angel, or soul wants to relate their "feelings" to you. On the other side is the moon symbol which represents the opposite emotion. The two corners at the bottom depicting a Ouija Session in progress with a "Spirit" about to enter the female who has raised her hands from the board, is not quite so obvious. I think it represents a kind of indication of attention, as if a spirit is trying to tell you something very important. Sometime it represents a path to the dark side of the "Spirit Realm". (If there is anybody out there who could supply a better explanation, please feel free to e-mail me.)
"How often should I use a Ouija Board...?"Once or twice a week is okay, if there is something really pressing on your mind that can't wait and you need answers right away. Generally I would recommend moderate usage, maybe twice a month. You don't want to get too withdrawn from your daily routines. There's a world out there you know.
"Once I have established contact how do I make sure the spirit, angel, entity is released and doesn't haunt me when I put the board away...?"Again ask for guidance. Whenever you stop the session you should say a prayer of release and omit your honest gratitude to the angels or spirits that guarded you during your experience before you put the board away.
"I have tried many times to contact a spirit but it never seems to work..."Well, for one you obviously still have your doubts. Your thoughts are not permitting you to open the channels. The mind is a powerful weapon in real life and it is trained to protect us from anything we can't rationally analyze or identify. In our case however, it is more of a hinderance than it is being useful. Dig deeper, take a deep breath and concentrate on what you're about to ask the spirit/angel.
"How do I contact my Guardian Spirit / Angel ...?"First of all, your guardian angel/spirit is always with you and the Ouija Board is a great way of actually communicating with him/her/it. The question is actually: "What should I ask my Guardian Angel, once I feel his/her/its presence ?" Again that is up to you. One question I find truly amazing though is to ask the Guardian when he/her/it entered your life, at what age, where and why. The answers will surprise you.
